Video Down Convert

A question came up regarding the AVS Media Video Convertor application.  Someone asked if the video convert app will down convert HD videos.  The answer is yes and it does that quite easily.    First start up the app as shown in the first pic.  Choose which video format you wish to convert to, then click on Edit Profile button.

The edit profile dialog will pop up and you can choose to change the width and height of the output video.  You can also change the audio rate as well.  The app is very useful in converting video into whatever format and size you need.

The AVS converter is the perfect editing and converting tool for the Canon HG20. Too bad it don't come with the camera. Software included with camera sucks bigtime. Also if you get the free codecs available at ffdshow, you can play almost any video format using Media Player. Hard to believe that even if you buy the suggested CD burner made for this Model, you still have to hook it to the camera to play back on your TV. The whole point was to be able to share these great videos with someone else and unless they have a blue-ray compatible player, they can't view. We are just paying the price for being at the forefront of this new technology, soon it will be standard stuff. Anyone wanting to share ideas for this product please contact me.
